New Zealand part VII

All the sightseeing stops have been accounted for and all the pictures are taken. So that's in the bank. Now it was about time to see ocean, waves and whatever the far south has to offer.

I drove straight down from Te Anau to the end of the Fjordland Nationalpark. In Orepuki in the Te Waewae Bay was the first free campground right behind the dunes. No waves though, but a beautiful scenery with the sunset and the feeling that there is nothing between here and first icebergs.

The surf wasn't too great and the weather was not the warmest I ever felt. But then I was very far south. I surfed Porridge, a spot I always wanted to surf. You have to give a little 'koha' a present to the Maori who ownes the land to be able to pass.

The surf was average, but done on the bucket list. The spiritual surf was heaps better. I moved on to the other side of Invercargill, by the way not the greatest place in earth, to the Catlins. On the way to surf another spot in the surf movie 'drive through New Zealand'. A beautiful campsite right infront of the beach with high cliffs around it awaited me at Purakaunui Bay.

Back from the south I passed again Queenstown to eat a few more Fergburger before I had a last drive through Lindi's Pass. A short stop at Lake Pukaki and a clear look at Mt. Cook followed by a sleepover at the golden grass fields of Lake Tekapo was almost the end of my trip and the end of my journey through Aotearoa.

New Zealand gave me so much... again. It made it's way so deep into my heart and fills me with Joy and an unprecidented calmness. I can truely simply be - pure beeing im the moment. Every breath tastes different, every worry and every sorrow is gone far away and only positive impact stays behind. But I will be back and maybe one time it's forever. Kia ora.
