Alpine environment
Been back from a years travel and getting sucked back into the hectic lifestyle. Although I wouldn't call it a that rather than suffocating. Anyway, I tried to get back into the ordinary life and what's more relaxing than going hiking and into another and most importantly different holiday with my family.
The first hike was meant to be a smooth one to get used to the mountains, but ended up beeing quite a leg burner with going up 1100 m latitiude and obviously down again. Do I need to mention that we had a lay day after that one?
Every freezing cold but crystal clear river I saw I needed to take a bath in like I was used to in NZ. Too easy wearing boardshorts and just a shirt in summertime.
We even drove to a public swimming lake which is basically a natural lake which top on they built a ski jump. Finally we went out for a fancy group dinner on our last night. It was delicious and all local organic and non antibiotic ingrediences.
I was going on a tour after that week visiting a few friends all around Germany. I stopped by at Jannis' in Munich, seen on of oldest cities Rothenburg and Heidelberg. Before I caught up with a friend in Cologne who I haven't seen in 15 years and a good old friend from Australia in Bonn who I spent a long time 5 years ago in a hostel in Torquay.
Finally one more who I studied Sport with and hast now 3 little kiddies and works as a teacher on the opposite site of Germany. That was so lovely and took me back to uni days.
