Maledives part I
First stop Maledives. Honestly I wanted to see them before humanity's idiocracy has risen the sea level due to the melting South and North Pole and swallow up these islands completely. Forecasts predict a sea level rise of 1,5 m when all the ice has been melt. The average hight of the islands over here is 2 m. Most of the islands are uninhabited. Then there are the Resort Islands which are private. And then there are local islands which have been opened up to tourism in 2008. A small culture of homestays and guest houses have been built on the main local islands.
Guraidhoo was my first stop on the Kaafu Atoll. It is about 3h by public ferry or 50 minby speedboat further south of the capitol Male. It as two close waves, two restaurants and quite a few guesthouses. Despite the fact rubbish goes straight to sea or is collected on the edge of the island it's quite beautiful and a certain flair.
