Malaysia
So after spending some good and quality time in the water, I skipped Sri Lanka simply because surfing there would be a hassle and only the far end of the island ist working now. I would have done all the touristic stuff, but apparently travelling with a surfboard through the country especially on public transport is supposed to be a nightmare. So why go if I don't really want?
I flow into Kuala Lumpur instead and spent some days there before I decided to go to higher ground and colder temperatures in the Cameron Highlands. Unfortunately I had an infection in my tow which made me stay in bed and not walk around. By the time I arrived in Penang it was better, but not perfect. So I rented a scooter and drove around for a while to at least get out of my room.
Georgetown which is the main city on Penang has a strong colonial background, because the Brits used to own this territory and left quite a bit in the architecture of the buildings. That was a nice certain flair around the city centre which was unsual for asian standard.
Most of the tourist attractions which also made ne walk around as far as I could and check it out are the spread out streetarted painting on walls of houses. Especially the already old, fragile and broken of walls provide heaps of opportunities for artists to paint their streetarts.
