Pulau Banyak, Sumatra II

Finally in the Banjak Islands we already had a very fun but also bit dangerous first sunset session. A french couple arrived on the same day and were keen to catch a few aswell. The waves were very fun and quite fast. But we found out later through some scratches on our legs is that you don't surf the very last section, because it gets very shallow and the reef is sharp. We felt like kooks. But had fun. The following day we surfed the small left inside the bay which was euqally shallow and later the way overhead outside left and provided some long rides as long as you maintain speed and don't do anything stupid. The reef what another guy from our place found out was pretty close and also quite shallow. But I was very patient and lucky for a few very long rides and didn't closed out on me at the end but kept open and let me jump over.

The next day was our complementary trip to Treasure Island. A non inhabitated island just infront of the Banyaks. The wind messed up the best spot but we found some frickle lefts with steep take-offs to challange us a bit. Never would we believed that this was one of the best sessions.

The rest of the trip was as disappointing and annoying as the beginning. We are into our 5th day of completely flat conditions with high winds anyway. And there is nothing coming until the end of our trip in two days. And all that for the most expensive surf trip I ever made. The most exciting thing we did was going through the Mangroves and checking out typically small tropical islands.
