New Zealand part VI

Moving south I came through a little town called Wanaka. A bit snobby for it's size and expensive too, but I was just a walk through on the way to a cold bath in the lake and to Mt. Aspiring Nationalpark. I've never been and unfortunately the most exciting track was closed due to avalanches, but the valley itself was stunning.

To get to Wanaka you have to cross Lindi's Pass. Although I'm not impressed by dry grassland anymore Lindi's Pass always get's me and is actually one of my favourite places.

Further down past Wanaka lies the little but very busy and vibrant Queenstown. Right next to y crystal clear lake and the high rising Remarkables behind. I was looking especially forward to what I call the best burger in the world: Fergburger. Needles to say I ate 8 burger within my stay there and for the half das return coming back up from Invercargill. Worth every Dollar.

Finishing off on the tourist highway number one to Milford Sound. I wasn't really into it but booked a tour bus to not drive myself and used the one sunny day in a rainy week for the trip. So as spontanious as it was as beautiful was it.

Just the drive through the high cliffed mountains with waterfalls almost evrywhere and still heaps of snow on top was worth it and Milford itself was not too bad either.
